Future Me Week

When I started my 10-week Graphic Design internship at Manchester Metropolitan University, I didn't know what to expect, and nothing could've prepared me for what was to come.

As part of their new approach to learning, they split the year into 2 semesters, and Future Me Week was the start of the second semester. It was an even full of extracurricular activities and events, from TED Talks to speakers coming in to develop your future employment skills. Part of that was 5 courses, 1 compulsory and 4 optional courses.

My role was to design the workbooks for the 4 optional courses. I worked closely with the experiential learning tutors in putting together a vision of what they wanted for their course, to provide the best possible experience to the students taking them.  Focusing on structure and UX, while trying not to sacrifice design and making them inviting and interesting. It was a great challenge to make workbooks that captured the personalities of the tutors making them while maintaining consistency and coherence with the other courses.

The internship was extended from 10 weeks and ended up being 5/6 months, and the role began to include a little more experiences and working closer with the Rise team who did a lot of the work to make Future Me Week the great experience that it ended up being.
