To anyone who watches basketball they maybe surprised to learn that Kyrie's inclusion to this list isn't simply down to his on-court wizardry and razzle-dazzle. although that would be reason enough to include him and it is where I start.
In 2014 my journey into basketball began initially through NBA 2k getting drafted by the timberwolves and becoming a Kevin Love fan, I got traded to the Cavs to and went on to win a championship on 2k14 by watching some dude Kyrie Irving carry. In the summer of 2014 It was announced LeBron was going back to Cleveland and that Kevin Love was joining forces with them. Thus piquing my interest to finally watch basketball. When watching Kyrie Irving instantly stood out to me with what he was doing with the ball, the way he made defenders look silly and 10 years later I still watch in awe as he continues to make the game look effortless and still find a way to amaze and surprise people.
Despite the on court magic, Kyrie Irving has long been one of the most polarising figures in basketball, for things that happen off the court. He is someone who stays true to his beliefs and his messages. someone who feels strongly and cares deeply about many things. This strong sense of self and individualism is a strength he posses. His charitable acts that constantly go unreported, as well as his signature shoe always being the best and more well thought-out first with Nike and now with Anta it's clear the same creativity and curiousity to see what's possible that helps him innovate on the court, follow him around off the court, which is the essence of what i believe to be an artist.

G-DRAGON
G-Dragon is an icon in Asia, every item he wears sells out. Every hairstyle he rocks becomes the new trend. Often referred to the Michael Jackson of Asia. The artist that forged the connection between the fashion world and K-pop., as well as the art world. When I think of self-expression G-Dragon is definitely the first person I think of. Every song lyric, performance, music video, every instagram post, every item of clothing is an insight into the mind of G-Dragon. which makes every move he makes captivating.
Every new release has a concept, a message he embodies, he transforms himself to fit perfectly. Every hairstyle, outfit, down to the minutest of details is carefully constructed. The ability to express your message wholly is a key part of expression that requires complete faith in who you are and what you represent.
I believe the ability to be fluid and allow change, to try new things and accept new sources is the quality that makes G-Dragon a transcendent figure, he is constantly evolving and transforming. Never stagnant
Pharrell
Pharrell Williams has made produced hit records across 4 decades, and he's done everything from design clothing, sunglasses and even designed furniture. Someone who is well respected across various industries. His curiosity to see what's possible, his ability to sense the tide changing and being able to adapt and excel through multiple decades. The main thing an artists aspires to find is something that''s so individual and unique to them and that's something that takes time to hone and craft, but to be able to apply that individualism to many different mediums shows a mastery that few can attain.
Never being afraid to take a risk, always experiment and trying, always creating with a purpose. and working in different domains shows that being an artist is an approach to life rather than a skillset in a particular field. its a transferable skill that means no-matter what you do you'll be an artist while doing it. you're openness and curiosity, your experimenting will mean you will be an effective artist no matter what you do and very few if any demonstrate that more than Pharrell.
